I'm Rachel! I have been a teacher my whole life, starting out as a bossy older sister and, more recently, spending fifteen years as an elementary and middle school educator.
I was a classically trained ballet dancer in my youth, and a half and full marathon runner in my twenties and early thirties. After dealing with nerve damage and low back surgery, a process that took many years to contend with and recover from, my first order of business was to get certified to teach yoga.
I feel new to the practice of yoga every time I step on to the mat, which offers me a unique sense of curiosity and compassion for every type and genre of yoga student. I am specifically interested in yoga for people with injuries and for people interested in strengthening their relationship with their mind, body, and heart.
I am a firm believer that yoga is for every body and every mind. I began themobiyogi.com to bring yoga from me, to you! Especially in these times, when in-studio classes are inconvenient for some and impossible for others.
If you are within a reasonable driving distance (I live in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts), I will come to you, bringing with me sanitized props and mats. We'll yoga together, outside or in a well ventilated space in your home with masks on. You don't have to worry about a thing-- come as you are. It's like Zoom, but better!
I have a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College, and am a Registered Yoga Alliance 200 hr Yoga Teacher. I am also a reiki master and practitioner. Learn more about that here!
